Gilbert Porter, hero of many Southland Rugby representative matches, has since the end of last season, been in very bad health as the result of injuries received on the field. He is to be given a seven-a-side benefit tournament at Tuatapere to-morrow. J. E. Giesert, once of Wanganui Collegiate School, has been playing very good Rugby as a centre three-quarter for Guy’s Hospital, London, throughout the British season which is now ending. He is reported to have played an outstandingly fine game against Old Millhillians, for whom R. S. Spong, at fly*half, was his old ebullient self. Gieseii captains Guy’s Hospital.
