Acton Adams, St ElmoCourts, is the guest of Mrs J. H. Fotheringham, Dttnedin. Dr Baker MacLaglan has returned from South Canterbury, and is at Khartoum, Cashmere Hills. Mr and Mrs Jack Ferrier, Heaton Street, will leave Wellington by the Rangitata about May 11, for England. Mrs J. H. Crawshaw, Dunedin, is staying w T ith Mrs M. Taylor, Opawa, prior to a trip to England. Mr and Mrs Tyndall Harman returned to Christchurch yesterday morning after a trip to Australia. Sister North, of the Church Army, has arrived in Christchurch and is spending a few days at the Y.W.C.A. hostel. Mr and Mrs Maurice Macfarlane, Awapuni, Waikari, returned home on Tuesday from a holiday spent in the Southern Lakes district. Mrs G. W. Bennett, Knowles Street, who has been spending a holiday in Dunedin and the Eglinton Valley, returned home on Wednesday evening. Mrs Charles Hoggard, Dunedin, who has been staying with her aunt, Miss J. M’Clatchie, Holly Road, returned home on Tuesday. Mr and Mrs Maurice Warren, Innes Road, St Albans, and Mr and Mrs Bruce Murray, South Canterbury, returned to Christchurch yesterday morning from a trip to Australia. Mr and Mrs T. P. Sewell and their daughter left Christchurch on Wednesday evening to join the Wanganella for Australia, where Miss Sewell's marriage will take place on May 9. Miss Nancy Gibson, Helmore’s Road, is the guest of Miss Helen Fenwick, Dunedin, for the wedding of Miss Brigit Leatham, at which Miss Gibson will be one of the bridesmaids. Mrs G. H. Greaves, Dunedin, who has been in Christchurch for the AdairMunns wedding, is staying with Mrs A. G. Munns, Woodbridge, Carlton Mill Road. Mrs Colin Sinclair-Thomson, Wellington, arrived yesterday to visit Mrs Sin-clair-Thomson, Woodbury. Miss Rattray, Dunedin, is also visiting Mrs Sin clair-Thomson. Mrs H. S. Lawrence, Fendalton, and Mrs Dodgshun, Dunedin, left Christchurch last night for Wellington, where they will attend a meeting of the executive of the New Zealand Ladies’ Golf Union to be held this morning.

Mrs Cecil Wood, Armagh Street, is visiting Mrs Edgar liazlett, Dunedin. Mrs John Cook, Dunedin, will return home on Monday, after spending a few weeks in Christchurch. Mrs J. 11. Grigg, Longbeach, will return home to-morrow from a visit to Christchurch. Sister Tutson. of the Church Army, fs the guest of Mrs E. Ness, Gloucester Street. Mrs Arnold Preston, Christchurch, who has been the guest of her mother, Mrs J. M. F. Connolly, of Bayswater, Auckland, has returned south. Mr and Mrs R. J. Murphy, Beaufort, Pleasant Point, are staying in Christchurch with Mrs L. A. Woodward, Hagley Avenue. Mrs Howley and Mrs 11. IT. Webb, Sefton Street, Timaru, who have been visiting Christchurch, have returned, accompanied by Mrs Valentine Hitchings, Otorohunga. Mrs Neill Rattray, who has been staying with her mother, Mrs George Helmore, Millbrook, Fendalton, returned to Waimate yesterday. Next week she will leave for Dunedin to attend the wedding of Miss Brigit Leatham. Mr and Mrs E. R. M’Donald, Lingard Street, St Albans, will leave for Wellington on Tuesday next and will spend a few days there prior to leaving by the Monowai on April 20 for an extended tour of Australia. Mrs W. Chrystall and Miss Dorothy Chrystall, Colombo Street, North, returned home yesterday from a visit to the King Country, where they were the guests of Mrs Gordon Chrystall. Miss Juliet Nathan, Wellington, who has been staying with Miss Elisabeth Alpers, Fendalton, left yesterday to visit Mrs John Deans, Kirkstyle. She will leave for Dunedin on Monday. Miss Irene Cruickshank, Dunedin, a graduate of the Home Science School at Otago University, has left for Auckland to take up a position on the staff of the Seddon Memorial College. Miss Cara M’Rae, Waikari, North Canterbury, who has been the guest of Mrs R. E. Tolhurst, Pip i tea Street, Wellington, left yesterday by the Wanganella for Sydney. Mrs Murray Fuller returned to Wellington by the Wanganella from Sydney on Wednesday, and is staying with Mrs W. 11. Kent, Muritai, prior to leaving by the Akaroa for England early in May. While in Sydney Mrs Fuller held an exhibition of pictures on the lines of those so popularised by her husband, the late Mr Murray Fuller. The exhibition was opened by Sir Philip Game, and was a great success in ever} r way. It is Mrs Fuller’s intention to return to New Zealand and hold further exhibitions after her visit to England.
