ROYALTY CARPETS AND BALLANTYNES As long ago as 1851 a Carpet was made by John Cossley & Sons, Ltd., England, for an exhibition held in the Crystal Palace—under Royal patronage. The Carpet in question, a Printed Worsted Tapestry, is a triumph of skilful production, unusual in the boldness of design, and the rich colourings employed, which have retained their original unfading beauty down to the present time. This Carpet has been reserved for exhibition purposes only and is now on display in one of our Colombo St. Windows.
