PIONEERING VISIT.

Overseas Ship Berthed at Whangarei. Per press Association. WHANGAREI, April 12. An important stage in the development of Whangarei marked the arrival of the steamer Antonio, which has come to New Zealand from Nova Scotia with a full load of newsprint. Drawing eighteen feet, she was berthed easily at the recently-completed Kioreroa wharf, where she is discharging 200 tons of newsprint for the “ Northern Advocate." Hitherto it has been necessary to tranship newsprint to Whangarei. The pioneering visit of the Antonio is being suitably celebrated.
