LAST RESPECTS PAID.

Funeral of Late Mr R. S. Pearson. A cortege nearly a mile in length followed the remains of the late Mr Robert Steele Pearson, head master of the New Brighton District High School, from the schoolhouse to St Faith’s Church and thence to the Sydenham Cemetery. The services, both at the church and at the graveside, were conducted by the Rev T. M. Curnow. The road from the church to the tramway bridge was lined by the pupils of the late head master. The principal mourners were: Mrs R. S. Pearson (widow*), Mrs R. S. Pearson, sen., Mrs W. Rollinson, Mrs R. H. Cranfield, Miss Helen Pearson, Miss Agnes Pearson, Miss Isabel Pearson, Miss Florence Pearson and Mr J. Shearer, sen. (father-in-law). The pall-bearers were Messrs R. S. Pearson (son), W. N. Rollinson and R. H. Cranfield (sons-in-law), P. Shearer and J. Shearer (brothers-in-law) and E. Rice (cousin).
