PARISH MEETING.

St Barnabas’ Church, Fendalton. The annual parish meeting of the St Barnabas Church, Fendalton, was held on Monday night. The vicar, the Rev F. B. Redgrave, presided over a good attendance. The vicar’s report stated that church work had been difficult, not only last year, but for the past few years. Now that financial prospects were brighter, lie hoped that the chuneh life of the parish would be stronger. The churchwarden, in his report, stated that the past year had been an anxious one from a financial point ' of view. However, it seemed that better times were at hand. The year had ended with a credit balance of £43 2s lOd. Mr Redgrave, in his address, commented on the excellent work of the various parish organisations. There was evidence of healthy church life. The choir continued to render fine service under the direction of the organist and choirmaster. Mr L. C. M. Saunders. The work of the parish was growing, and lie was pleased to know that on his return from England, about January next, he would have the services of a curate to assist him. He thanked parishioners for many kindnesses extended to him and his wife on the eve of their departure for England. He had no misgivings about leaving his parish in the hands of the Rev O. Fitz Gerald and so many able and devoted workers. Mr R. S. D. Harman, parishioners’ warden, spoke briefly on the work of the vestry during the past year. Church property had been maintained in good order, the church and grounds of St Barnabas being specially attractive. The Sunday school would shortly be painted and renovated.
