N.Z. FILMS POPULAR.
A New Zealander, now resident in Sydney, in a letter to a friend in Christchurch, says that recently he had the pleasure of attending one of the fortnightly screenings of New Zealand tourist films released by the New Zealand Government Tourist Bureau. “ Honestly, I assert that I felt very proud, as a New Zealander, to hear the complimentary remarks passed by variout members of the audience,” he states. “ The programme, which lasted approximately forty-five minutes, was most comprehensive and covered practically all the main tourist resorts of both islands, and the screening was prefaced and concluded with a few remarks by the New Zealand Government Trade and Tourist Commissioner, Mr L. J. Schmitt. In conversation with him afterwards, I w r as gratified to learn that, as a result of these screenings, which can be attended by anyone sufficiently interested to procure a card of admission from the Tourist Bureau, many tours are booked, and Mr Schmitt is to be highly commended upon his enterprise.”
