RICCARTON LADIES’ GUILD.
The monthly meeting of the Clarence Road Methodist Ladies’ held in the guild room on Wednesday afternoon, was well attended. Mrs H* Ryan presided. Members were re* minded of the congregational gathering to be held on Tuesday evening, April 17. This will take the form of an “at home’’ for the purpose of welcoming new members to the Riccarton circuit, and also of drawing up a schedule of activities for the present year’s work in the church. Arrangements were completed for the Central Worden’s Auxiliary, with the president, Mrs Blamires, to visit the Riccarton Guild on the afternoon of April 19. Miss May Barnett, Tai Tapu, will be the speaker. The ladies of the Village Methodist Church, Upper Riccarton, extended an invitation to the guild members to attend a tennis afternoon at the end of April. Sister Heeni, a student at the Christchurch Methodist Deaconess House, who is assisting the Rev H. Ryan in his visiting in the district, was welcomed by Mrs Ryan and the guild members. The hostesses at afternoon tea were Miss I. Woodvatt and Mrs P. Dixon.
