Morgan, Opawa, will leave this week to spend Easter at Wellington. Mrs A. E. Cooper and Miss Doris Cooper, Cashmere Hills, will leave on Monday on a visit to Australia. Miss M. J. Denniston, Hereford Street West, and Miss Nora Quarrell, Opawa have returned from a visit to Dunedin Mr and Mrs Colin Douglas, Waimate, are staying with Mrs W. L. Cunningham, Christchurch. Mrs Deans, Riccarton House, will return to town to-day after visiting members of her family in the country. Mr and Mrs R. Muir are Wellington visitors to Christchurch and are guests at the Royal Hotel. Mr and Mrs W. Trolove, The Shades, Marlborough, are on a visit to Christchurch. Mr and Mrs C. G. Teschemaker, Avondale, Marlborough, have returned from a visit to Christchurch. Mr and Mrs E. G. Blick, Burtergill, are visiting Mr and W. H. Atkinson, Wood Bank, Hanmer Springs. Miss Barbara Scudamore, Riccarton House, will leave next month for Wellington, where she will live in future. Mr and Mrs Rossmore Cracroft Wilson will return to their home in Fendalton on Friday frmo a holiday spent in the North Island. Mrs Maurice Macfarlane, Waikari, and Miss Nancy Gibson, Fendalton, left to-day on a visit to Dunedin and the Southern Lakes. Mrs A. S. Taylor, Christchurch who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs Holdsworth, Kelburn, has returned to Christchurch. Mr and Mrs A. E. Weld and Miss Mary Weld, Grassmere, Marlborough, have returned from a visit to Christchurch. Mr and Mrs Lionel Finch. Park Lane Timaru, are visitors to Christchurch for Easter, and are staying at Warwick House. Mrs J. Willis and Miss Margaret Willis, Bealey Avenue, who are visiting Dunedin, will return to Christchurch this evening. Miss Millv Humm, Sheffield, will leave on Friday to spend the Easter holidays with her sister,, Mrs Robert M’Queen, i Parnassus. Miss Esther Rose, Wellington, will arrive on Friday to spend Easter with her parents, Mr and Mrs Arthur Rose St Elmo Courts. Mrs J. Tobin, Christchurch, has returned north after staying with Mrs Colin Marshall, Ilewlings Street, Ti maru. Mrs Frank Scott, Gloucester Street West, who is spending a holiday in Wellington, is expected to return to Christchurch on Wednesday next. Miss J. Roddick, who has been the guest of Miss A. Columb. Seadown. South Canterbury, has returned to her home in Dlinedin. Miss Margaret Cotterill, Mosgiel, will arrive in Christchurch to-day on a visit to her aunt. Miss M. Cotterill, Cashel Street West. Miss Sheila Cordner, Rossall Street, will return home to-morrow from North Canterbury, where she is the guest of Miss Cara M’Crea, Waikari. Mrs Beveridge Davis left for the north last night to attend her brother’s wedding, which will take place on Easter Monday. Mrs Widenham Maunsell and Miss Maunsell, who arrived in Christchurch recently from London, have taken a flat at St Elmo~ Courts, and went into it to-day. Miss P. E. Connor, Dominion Secretary of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, is at present the guest of Mrs Horace Ellen, Ethandune, Wood end. Mrs W. Wagland and family, Kings roy. Queensland, arrived in Christchurch on Tuesday morning to visit relatives. They intend to stay a few months. Mrs C. Hastings, Wellington, arrived in Christchurch yesterday to visit her sister, Mrs A. Watts, Beckenham, for the Rogers-Watts wedding on Easter Monday. Mrs George Macdonald, Lowry Hills, Cheviot, and Mrs Bruce Douglas, “ Glenesk,” Greta, will come to town to-morrow to spend Easter with their mother. Lady Clifford, “ Avonholme,” Fendalton. Mrs Wrev Nolan and her daughter. Miss Pamela Price, Gisborne, who are staving with Mrs H. S. Lawrence, Garden Road, will leave on Friday for Wellington, en route to Sydney, where they will spend a holiday. Mrs De La Salle and her niece, Miss Elizabeth Stephen, who have been spending several weeks in Tasmania and Sydney, will come to New Zealand early "in April and will spend a month here before returning to their home in England. The appointment of Mrs Knox Gilmer, of Wellington, as Government nominee on the Wellington College Board of Governors in succession to the late Mrs E. W. Kane, was announced by the Minister of Education (the lion R. Masters) yesterday. Mrs Gilmer is the seventh daughter of the late Mr R. J. Seddon. „
