SAMOAN VISITORS.

Administrator Coming. (Special to the “ Star.”) APIA, March 18. According to latest reports, Mr H. E. Hart, Administrator of Samoa, will leave Samoa fer a short holiday in New Zealand by the next trip of the Maui Pomare. Mr A. C. Turnbull, Secretary to the Administration, 'will be acting-Administrator during his absence. Chief Judge Luxford intends to return to New Zealand in April next. Judge and Mrs M’Carthy left Apia by the Maui Pomare. They were farewelled by numerous friends. The judge had been one of the most popular officials of the Samoan Administration during his lengthy stay in the Islands. The Maui Pomare took a full complement of bananas, 6850 cases, to New Zealand. Economically things have not improved in Samoa since last month. The copra and cocoa prices are as bad as ever, and the happy-go-lucky Samoans do not feel inclined to exert themselves and cut copra for the very nominal rate being paid out by the merchants at present. European planters are scarcely better off, with cocoa being sold at 7 and 7-J cents per pound in New York and San Francisco. Still, people have not lost courage and are struggling on, even if they have to go without many luxuries.
