New Zealander Arrested in Japan. HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received March 28. 2.15 p.m.) LONDON, March 27. It is announced that William Maxwell Bickerton, who was born in New Zealand in 1901. and who is at present a teacher in the Tokio High Schcol, was arrested by the Japanese police on March 13 on suspicion that he was engaged in Communist activities. The British Ambassador in Tokio is watching Bickerton’s interests.
