WELLINGTON OFFICE.

Reserve Bank Will Open on August 1. (Special to the “ Star.”) WELLINGTON, March 21. Opening for business on August 1, the new Reserve Bank of New Zealand will at first have an office in Wellington only, but branch offices may be opened in other centres if they become necessary. Officers and a staff will soon be selected by the governor of the bank (Mr Leslie Lefeaux), and already many hundreds of applications for positions have been received. The deputy-governor to be chosen will act as Mr Lefeaux’s right-hand man. It is expected that the final choice will be made soon, as it is understood that the Government has already given the matter some consideration.
