The Lyttelton waterfront, which experienced a very busy time on Monday and Tuesday, was fairly quiet to-day. The intercolonial steamer Wainui, from Melbourne, with general cargo and transhipments, and the Waipiata, to load for Auckland, were the only cargo vessels to arrive. ALEXANDER arrived last night from Picton with sheep. On discharging, the vessel left for the Sounds, where she will load more sheep for Lyttelton. HOLMDALE is expected to return to Lyttelton on. March 27 to load for Avellington, Picton and Wanganui. POOLTA, from Dunedin, via ports, is expected to call at Lyttelton on Friday to load for Wellington, Napier and Gisb°TOTARA, from the south, is expected to return on Sunday to load for Wellington and New Plymouth.
