THRILLING MOTOR RACE.

200-mile Grand Prix in Victoria. MELBOURNE, March 20. There was a thrilling finish to the 200-mile Grand Prix at Phillip Island. The winner, R. Lea Wright, driving a Singer off the limit (35min) covered the distance in 3hr 12min 9sec. W. Thompson, the runner-up, off scratch, driving a supercharged M.G. Magnette, finished only 12sec later, his time being 2hr 37min 21sec, a record for the course. Thompson also won the fastest time prize. There were twenty starters and several minor accidents.
