SUNDAY TENNIS.

A notice of motion in the name of Councillor M. E. Lyons, relating to Sunday tennis on reserves, came before last evenings meeting of the City Council, but the mover agreed to the matter being held over until the next meeting, to permit Councillor E. H. Andrews to speak on the subject. Councillor Andrews was unable to attend last evening's meeting. Councillor Lyons’s motion proposes permitting Sunday play on reserves under the control of the council, on condition that it be restricted to the period between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. The motion has now been held over twice.
