The Right Ideal.

Dear Sir.—lt is stated by the Manufacturers* Federation that the real problem before us is how existing industries may be expanded and new industries established, in order to provide employment for more New Zealanders, to increase the spending power of New Zealand w’orkers, and thus benefit every kind of business in the Dominion. Here is a field for our business men to operate on. They are beginning to realise that welfare is wealth and that a firm’s best assets are its customers—that all trade springs from wages. Major Douglas has put forward a Plan. Labour has put forward a Plan. Now let the Manufacturers’ Federation and the Chamber of Commerce put forward a Plan.—l am, etc., J.L.P.
