EGG PRICES.
Messrs Mnofarlane and Co. report the following wholesale prices for eggs:— First grade, up to Is Id a dozen; second grade, Is. Red Comb Egg and Poultry Company. The Red Comb Egg and Poultry Company report entries at both Saturday’s and Wednesday’s sales comprised mainly of boilers, for which prices showed a hardening tendency. Competition was good, and prime medium-weight, wellflnished consignments sold at much higher prices in comparison with the heavier birds, that lacked finish. Pullets and yearling hens sold well. The average prices per pair were:—Roasting chickens, light to 5s 6d, medium to 7s 3d. heavy to 1.0 s; hens, light to Is 3d. heavy to 6s 3d; ducks, to 6s: chicklings, to 7s; goslings, to 6s: nullets, to 12s 9d: turkeys, to Is per lb. Eggs—Tested, machine graded, guaranteed fresh, first grade is Id, second grade Is per d.oz.
