SWIMMING.

Records Set at Carnival at Phillipstown. MISS A. MORRIS IN FORM. Two Canterbury records were broken and another was equalled at the Phillipstown Amateur Swimming Club’s carnival this afternoon. Miss A. Morris, of the Elmwood Club, swam convincingly to reduce the Canterbury intermediate girls’ record for 220yds from 3min 2sec to 2min 59 3-ssec. Unfortunately she fouled a rope near the finish, or otherwise her time would l have been even bettei. She also ; equalled the Canterbury record of 32sec : in the 50yds. The men's mile championrhip resulted in an easy win for C. Cliff, who outdistanced the field. C. Roscoe clipped 4 4-ssec off the Canterbury record for the 75vds junior breaststroke, unpaced, as he was the only starter. All the handicap events attracted good entries and the racing was very keen.
