T ORD TRENCHARD. Commissioner of Police of the Metropolitan London, hopes to make the new Police College at Hendon, which opens in March, the most efficient training school for policemen in the world. Among the features of the College will be a model police court; a model charge room; rooms for the staging of murders: a wireless and telephone room; a gymnasium and a riding school. The course of training will include the general principles of law; the history of police systems at Home and abroad; first aid; photography; traffic regulations; fire drill; ju-jitsu, and regulations about aliens. Mock trails are to take place at the college, and imaginary murders and robberies will be staged so that the students may be tested in observation and procedure. The instructors will include the greatest scientific experts in the country, as well as practical police officers. The famous Black Museum from Scotland Yard is to be removed to the college. This museum contains hundreds of relics of famous criminals, including a number of plaster casts of the heads of murderers. It is thought that the museum will prove of great value to students of crime, and it has grown too big for its present quarters at “ the Yard.**
