A Brewer’s Training.

'JMIE extensive training at colleges and under experts which European l brewers of beer have to undergo before themselves undertaking the work of brewing was mentioned by several witnesses in the Arbitration Court at Napier during the hearing of a claim for compensation in connection with the death of a Napier brewer while in the course of his employment. One witness stated that in some countries the training given to brewers amounted almost to a university course, lasting in one case for about three years. “ Anyone can be a brewer these days, working himself up from the ranks,” said another witness. “ However, if there was any trouble, he would not have the scientific knowledge behind him to show him where it was.”
