DIAMOND JUBILEE.

Meeting of St Albans Committee. A meeting of the St Albans School Diamond Jubilee Committee was presided over by the chairman, Mr G. F. Allen; present—Mesdames Wilson and Sandman, Messrs Sheppard, Randle, Munday, Thwaites, Fajkinder, Robertson, Newberry, Fraser and Foote. Mr Sheppard outlined the work done by the Finance Committee and moved that the balance-sheet be received. A balance of £29 10s was shown. The report was adopted. It was decided to request the School Committee to ask the Education Board to undertake the safe custody of the records of the school up to and including the period of the jubilee. At this stage a discussion took place on proposals for a Diamond Jubilee Memorial. and it was resolved that those present should become the Memorial Committee, with power to add to their number. This committee met later, when it was decided to set up a subcommittee, consisting of Messrs G. F. Allen. «T. E. Thwaites, T. Falkinder and J. E. Foote, to Obtain specifications and prices for a pair of memorial gates, and report to the committee at a meeting to be held in the St Albans School at an early date.
