LOW TRAM FARES.
Sydney Shows Profit on Reduced Rates. SYDNEY, February 22. The Sydney trams last year carried 276,735,000 passengers at fares which were the lowest for ten years The working profit was £442,900, leaving a net surplus after payment of interest and exchange of £11,186. Busses on sections serving non-paying areas were reduced from £115,000 to £20.437.
