POLICE COURT.
Man Remanded to Hamilton on Theft Charge. Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M.. presided at a sitting of the Magistrate’s Couri this morning. Frederick George Voyle, a traveller. thirty-Seven years of age, of Marshall Street, was charged that on or about September 1, 1933, at Pukekohe having received the sum of £63 7 xOs 4d paid into an Imprest account at the Bank of New Zealand, Pukekohe, by hi»- employers, the New Zealand Co-operative Pig Market Association, Lid . Hamilton, with a direction that it be applied by him for the purpose of purchasing calves, did fraudulently apply the sum of £59 19s 2d to his own use, thereby committing theft. Chief-Detective Dunlop said the man had been arrested yesterday. A warrant bad been Issued for his arr.-st ai Hamilton on January 30. Mr Niblook appeared for accused and asked for bail. Voyle was remanded to appear at Hamilton on February 28, call being allowed in the sum of £2OO and one surety of £2OO. ltamand Granted. Leslie Norman Scurrah a labourer, twenty-four years of age, was charged with stealing a bicycle on February 20. valued at 12. the property of some person unknown. Mr Russell appeared for the accused, who pleaded guilty. Chief-Detective Dunlop in asking for a remand in order to make further inquiries. said ’that some property had been found at accused's hou«e. A lamp bad been identified as one taken from a bicycle a few days ago. Accused was remanded till February 27. bail being allowed in the. sum of £SO and one surety of £SO.
