Canterbury Women’s Cricket Team at Wanganui. (Special to the ** Star.”) WANGANUI, February 23. Miss Margaret Marks, of the Canterbury Women’s cricket team, who made 103 (retired) against the Wanganui B team on Wednesday, is to be presented with a replica of a gold brooch shaped like a bat won by Miss Mabel Corby, of Wanganui, for the highest individual score—lo 6 (retired) —in a series of matches for the Dominion championship. The visiting players were tendered a complimentary dance last evening, when the handsome shield donated by Amalgamated Theatres was presented to the Canterbury team. Highly complimentary references were made to the splendid allround play of the winners. Much enthusiasm was displayed. The team is very popular here.
