PRICES OF TOBACCO.
Effort to Standardise Rates. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, February 23. Uniform retail prices for tobacco and cigarettes are expected to be announced shortly, as the outcome of a recent conference in Wellington between the interests concerned. With a view to stopping price-cutting, standardised rates are now being prepared, and it is probable that they will operate from March 1.
