RESTORATION OF WAGES.

Wellington Harbour Board to Make Inquiries. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, February 22. The chief executive officer of the Wellington Harbour Board is to make inquiries from other principal boards concerning the wages and conditions ol permanent employees for the purpose of comparison. The board reached this decision after Mr C. H. Chapman, M.P., had drawn attention to a report that the Nelson Board proposed to restore the wages cut to its employees. The chairman, Mr Turrell, stated that negotiations were already being carried out in regard to casual workers.
