DEATH OF DOCTOR.
Was Prominent Figure on West Coast. Per Press Association. GREYMOUTH, February 20. Dr James Wilson M’Brearty died suddenly this morning. He was sixtyfive years of age. Dr M’Brearty was well known arid highly respected on the West Coast. Fie was of a kindly and sympathetic nature, and generous in his support of a number of good causes. He leaves one son, Japies, a daughter, Mrs W. Penny, of Christchurch, and a brother, Mr Dennis M’Breartv. His wife predeceased him. He had been in practice on the Coast for many years, but had not done much medical work in the last few years. In his youth he played Rugby for Otago University. Always interested in sport, Dr M’Brearty was connected with nearly every branch of it on the Coast. He was patron of the West Cc-ast Cricket Association, and took an active interest in swimming. He was on the Board of Governors of the Greymouth Technical College, and president of the Playlovers, an amateur theatrical club.
