A RTISTS and business men are to work toother to further co-operation between Art and Industry on the council which it was recently announced was to be appointed for this purpose. • The composition of this body—the Council for Art and Industry—is now announced. Tt consists of noted artists, industrialists and distributors, and its chief objects are:— To raise the standard of industry by improving the quality and character of British poods; To bring artists and craftsmen—the ~~ r.e i *"■* 1 things—into industry. Pick (vice-chairman of the London Passenger Transport Board, and president of the Design and Industries Association) is chairman of the new council.
