ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING.
Per Press Association. WAIROA, February 14. A tragic death by shooting occurred this morning at Patunanui station when Robert Drysdale, single, twenty-seven years of age, lost his life through unusual circumstances. It appears that deceased used a gun to knock fruit off a tree. He failed to realise that the weapon was loaded. The impact caused the gun to explode with the result that deceased received the full contents in his chest, death being instantaneous. Mr Drysdale was very popular locally. He had been in the employ of the East Coast Rabbit Board for a considerable period.
