AUCKLAND BUSINESS. (Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLAND, February 3. At the last call of the week bidding was steady, and recent values were maintained. In the banking section N«w Zealands were in firm demand, and after reported sales up to 50s, there were fresh buyers at 49s 9d, but sellers had withdrawn. Bank of Australasias were asked for at last sale price, namely, £l2 15s, without attracting declarations from Die holders. With a dividend imminent, Auckland Gas shares firmed up, and were wanted at 24s 3d, with holders asking 6d more. Bycrofts, which touched a new high level yesterday with a sale at 42s 3d, had another sale reported at that figure, after which buyers dropped back to 41s lOd, and sellers withdrew. The timber section received fair attention. Kauris very firm with buyers at 17s. Waihis were in demand at 30s. SALE OF residence. Messrs C. E. Jones, Ltd., auctioneers arid estate agents, 174, Manchester Street, report having sold, on account of Miss Bowen, the property situate 349, St Asaph Street, comprising a residence of four rooms and conveniences, together with 20 perches of land, to a client at a satisfactory figure. 6
