GELIGNITE DOLLS.

Children Use Explosives as Toys. SYDNEY, January 25. The Auburn police were startled last week-end when it was reported that the lock of the explosives box at the Water Board’s works in that suburb had been broken and 70 sticks of gelignite stolen. They were astounded, however, to find that two boys, aged S and 10 years, took the explosive and distributed it among their juvenile friends. Girls moulded their sticks of gelignite into the form of dolls, while the boys made theirs into balls, which they tried to set alight with matches. Fortunately, being exposed to the air, the gelignite would only sizzle.
