Police Wanted to Prosecute Stavisky in 1930. SENSATION IN COURT. United Press As«n.—Py Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received February 1, noon). PARIS, January 31. A sensation occurred during the hearing of the case against one of M. Stavisky’s companies. Plaintiff’s counsel revealed that the Public Prosecutor's attention was called in 1929 to the company’s operations, but no action followed an inquiry and Stavisky’s connection with the company was not even mentioned. The police in 1930 pointed out teat Stavisky was the real promoter and insisted that he should be prosecuted, but nothing was done. Despite the Prosecutor’s request for an adjournment for further information, the court decided to proceed with the hearing.
