The mine manager of Golconda Mines, Ltd., reports that during the week the following work has been in progress: Tunnel level—We have continued the crosscut into the right hand side ot the east crosscut. The country is of a nice mild description. Intermediate level— Stoping was continued on the branch reef, and we have been in a blank, but the reef will make again in the next stope. 70ft level—ln the leading slope on the main reef east of the shaft, the reef is 4ft wide, but the values are low. The country is very hard at this point. In the leading stope on the banging wall reef, south-west of the shaft, the reef is a nice compact body of ore and a few colours of gold have been seen. We have started to drive ahead again on this reef, as it looks very promising. MAT AX I GOLD DREDGING, LTD. The following is the official return issued by the above-named company for the week ended January 27;—230z for 137 hours’- dredging. TALISMAN DUB BO GOLD MINES, DTD. The Talisman Dubbo (Sold Mines, Ltd., had 39i tons of ore treated at the Golden Dawn battery for a return of £384, actual realisation. THE DAWN OF HOPE GOLD MINES. The Dawn of Hope gold mine report states: —The drive going hillward off the rise on the flat leader has been in hand. The loader at present is a width of about nine inches, and although we have only I seen a little gold in the stone broken, it has a good appearance and we are expecting to meet with better values a* any breaking down. * POULTRY AND EGGS.
