ROWING REGATTA.
Stewart’s Gully Course Chosen. Further arrangements for the Christchurch Regatta Club’s annual regatta were made at a meeting of the club last night. The regatta, which for several years had been held over a mile course on the Waimakariri opposite Kairaki, will this season be rowed upstream to a finishing post opposite Stewart’s Gully. The matter of transporting the two eight-oar boats for the Canterbury Possibles v. Probables race a*t the conclusion of the regatta was left in the hands of the secretary (Mr R. JHobbs). The selection of the crews will be made next week. It was reported that an arrangement had been made by which the proprietor of the Stewart’s Gully picnic grounds would receive 3d from every ticket of admission, the charges for which would be Is for adults and 6d for children The positions of the crews at the starting point will be drawn next Monday. Several North Island crews are •expected to compete.
