Pyne and Miss Colin Pyne left to-day for Hanmer Springs after a visit to Christchurch. Next week they will be joined by Mrs George Robinson, Peel Forest. Commodore C. A. Bartlett C. 8., C.8.E.. R.N.R., retired superintendent of the White Star Line, and Mrs Bartlett, accompanied by Dr. C. and Mrs Coldicutt, Auckland, are touring New Zealand by car. Miss Oliver Kay, Dunedin, and Miss Bessie Gaisford, Marton, the wellknown New Zealand golfers, will leave New Zealand by the Mataroa on February 6. en route to England. Maxwell, St Albans, will leave by the Narbada from Dunedin en route for Taiping, Federated Malay States, where she will be the guest of Mrs Arthur Priest (Becky Logan). Miss Hilda Jones, Christchurch, is staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs David Jones. Bryndwr, after visiting Palmerston North for the Manawatu tennis tournament.

Miss Amelia Morris, Christchurch, who has been the guest of Mrs M. Gotlieb, The Terrace, Wellington, left for Palmerston North yesterday for the New Zealand intermediate and junior swimming championships. Mrs G. W. Forbes will arrive in Christchurch to-morrow morning from Wellington. She will return north shortly, accompanied by her daughters, Misses Bertha and Jessie Forbes, and they will go to Waitangi to attend the celebrations there in February.
