The strike of operatives at the Orange and Goulburn Woollen Mills which began last week has now extended to mills in the metropolitan area, and it is expected that by to-morrow there will be 1500 weavers on strike. This is bound to- cause a general hold-up, involving 11,000 employees. The dispute concerns the wages of country operatives which have lately been brought into line with those of similar workers in Victoria where the rates have been slightly less than in New South Wales.
