Halfpenny a Pound From To-day.

A further reduction of a halfpenny a pound in the price of butter took effect from to-day. following on a reduction by the larger companies, although it is not yet definite that it will be passed on to the public in every case. Some grocers are reported to be opposed to the decrease and intend to continue selling the butter at ninepence a pound instead of eightpenoc halfpenny. Six weeks ago butter was reduced by a penny a pound.
