U.S. MAIL CONTRACT.
Mr H. Hoover, Jun., Denies Graft Implication. CONNECTION WITH COMPANY. United Press Assn.—By Electric Teiegraph—Copyright. W ASHINGTON, January 14. Mr 11. Hoover, jun., to-day denied the intimations given before the Senate investigation committee that he had helped the Western Air Express Company to get lucrative mail contracts. He said that in 1930 he anticipated possible criticism of his connection with the air line and offered his resignation, although his father told him it was not necessary, but the company declined to accept. He declared that during the mail contract negotiations he was on leave, recuperating from an illness. Outside 350 shares in the company’s securities, which he had bought with his savings, he had no financial interest in the concern excepting his annual salary of 5000 dollars as a technician.
