TRAFFIC COURT CASES.

Informations Laid by City Council Inspectors.

Traffic prosecutions brought by the City Council inspectors were heard by Mr e. D. Mosley, S.M.. this morning, when fines were imposed as follows: Sleeping in Taxi on a Stand—Douglas Raker, 5s and costs. Parked Over Time Limit—Thomas L. Jones, 5s without costs; Robert Eric Free. Grace Archibold, James Cruse, Percy S. Helmore, Colin H. Jones. William Lawrence and Nicholas Matyasevic, 10s and costs. License Not Produced —John B. Batchelor and Lawrence Halcrow, 10s and costs. _ , Overloading Motor Lorry—Robert Johnston. 10s and costs. Gave False Name and Address—' Leslie Reginald Gray, 15s and costs. Cut a Dome—Trevor Hawkes, £2 and No Driving License—Bernard Mercer, 5s and costs; Thomas Henry V. Pheloung and Adrian G. Waddell. 10s and costs. Mercer was fined 10s and costs for having a noisy- exhaust on his motor-cycle, Pheloung £1 and costs for speeding, and Waddell £1 and costs for using demonstration plates on a vehicle which was not licensed to be used. Proceeded Against Signal—Gordon M’Laughlin. 10s and costs. Parked Within 20ft of Intersection— William Charles Scott, 10s and costs. Drove Over Fire Hose—Harold L. Whiteman, £1 and costs. MAINTENANCE COURT. For disobedience of orders the following were dealt with by Mr H- P. Lawry, S.M., in the Maintenance Court this morning:— Joseph James Goulding was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within two years. Ernest Greenfield was sentenced to six months* imprisonment, issue of the warrant to be suspended provided arrears are paid off at the rate of 10s a week.

A maintenance order at the rate of 5s a week was made against 55a.veri Beri on the grounds that he was a near relative of a destitute person.
