“LACK OF TACT.”

Protest Against Police Going on Rapaki Job.

A protest ,is to be forwarded to the Minister of Justice (the Hon J. G. Cobbe) by the Canterbury Trades and Labour Council against the “ uncalled for rushing of a large number of members of the police force to the relief job at Rapaki.” In the opinion of the council, which discussed the question at a meeting on Saturday evening, the calling of the police to the job showed “ a lamentable lack of tact on the part of the authorities.” (Other reference to the Rapaki dispute appears on page 6.)
