Kliss Diana Harris, Government Mouse, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs John Studholme, Middleton Grange, Upper Riccarton. Viscount Long, the newly-appointed A. to His Excellency, the GovernorGeneral, has left Wellington on a visit to Rotorua with Viscountess Long. Kir and Mrs R. H. Webb, Merivale, and Mrs E. Hartley, Knowles Street, have returned from a holiday at Sumner. Kir G. Lomas and the Misses E. and B. Lomas, St Albans, have returned to Christchurch after spending three weeks’ holiday at Timaru. Mr and Mrs J. Rosewarne and Miss Rita Rosewarne, Opawa, will leave tonight for Wellington, where they in tend to make their home. Mrs C. S. Bowden, “ The Long Cottage ”, Papanui Road, returned home to-day from a visit to her sister, Mrs Sinclair-Thomson, “ The Crossing ”, Geraldine. Miss Anne Crowley, who was the guest of her parents, Mr and Mrs. JB. Crowley, Timaru, is now visiting friends in Christchurch befoje returning to Wellington. Klesdames B. and J. Keene, H- Bush bridge and the Misses Patricia M’Namara and Lois Cole, Upper Riccar ton, are spending a month’s holiday at North Beach. Kliss E. Russell, Wellington, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs A. Russell, Christchurch, and was also the guest of Dr. and Mrs Falconer, Dunedin, has returned to Wellington. Mr and Mrs J. W. Smith, Mr and Mrs L. T. J. Ryan and daughter. Miss J oycQ Kaylor, and Mr Trevor Watson have returned to Christchurch after spending the holidays at Leithfield Beach. Miss Z. Bonnington and Kliss C. Bowden left Ashburton last evening for Wellington en route for Sydney, where Kliss Bowden is to be married to Mr G. C. Bonnington, a son of Mr H. E. Bonnington, of Wilts Street, Ashburton.

Henton, Heaton Street, who has been visiting Dr and Kirs Hayes, Seacliff, has returned lo town» Kliss Nancye LeCren, Murray Place, who is staving with Mrs Greenawa*. . Waikanae, will return to town this week-end. The Yen Archdeacon P. B. Haggitt and Kirs Haggitt, Merivale, will leave Christchurch on Saturday, January 27, for their new home in Nelson. Mr and Mrs J. G. Hawkins, Murray Aynslev Hill, will return to Christchurch to-morrow from a tour of the. Southern Lakes. Mr and Mrs D. Sinclair Murchison, Rossall Street, have returned to town from Lake Coleridge Station, where they were visiting Kir and Kirs lan Murchison. Mr and Mrs A. E. Byrne and Kliss Doreen Byrne, Waiwetu Street, Fendalton. who have been touring the southern lakes, will return to town tomorrow. Miss Roma Broadway, The Lodge, Cashel Street, will leave on Monday to spend a holiday at the Marlborough Sounds, where she will be the guest of Mr and Mrs A. L. Cropp. Kir and Kirs F. Wilding, “ Townhope ”, St Martins, will return to Christchurch to-morrow evening from Southland, where they have been visiting their son and daughter-in-law, Kir and Kirs Edwyn Wilding. Dr T. Craig, of the Palmerstan North Hospital, has accepted an appointment in Greymouth. She is a daughter of Dr G. Craig, Comptroller of Customs, and sister to Dr Florence Craig, of lh3 Christchurch Hospital. Mrs John Anderson. “ Inveresk ”, Armagh Street West, who is staying at Otira, will return to town on Tuesday. Miss D. Anderson will then join her sister, Kirs 11. Kidson, Fendalton, at Otira. Mr and Mrs R. E. McDougall, Papanui Road, are spending a holiday at their country home, “ Brookdale ”, Parnassus. They will be joined there on Monday by their daughter, Mrs F. G. Bristed, Rossall Street. Mr and Mrs H. Tovey will arrive in Auckland from England about February 1, on a visit to their son, Mr ] Kenneth Tovey, Martinborough. The}' will later come to the South Island to see Mr Tovey’s brother and sister-in-law, Dr and Mrs A. H. Tovey, Ilanmer Springs.
