THE SOCIAL ROUND.
Gatherings Held in Town and Suburbs. Bridge party at sumner. An enjoyable evening was spent at the club rooms of the Sumner-Red-cliffs branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association on Tuesday, when a five hundred and bridge evening organised by the Women’s Auxiliary was held. The large room, which has been furnished and decorated by the association, was artistically decorated with flowers blending with the club colours of orange and black, and with pictures given by friends of the members. The object of the evening was to raise funds for the purchase of additional equipment for the club kitchen. Those, present included:—Mesdames A. Ternpler (president), Prangnell, Harrison, Nicholson, Neilson, Perry, Lawrence and Aiiss Maude (committee), Air and Airs Wilson, Air and Mrs Neilson, sen.. Air and Airs Prangnell, sen., Alesdames A. E. Young, C. Al. Roswell, Atkinson, H. Y. Widdowson, D. G. .J.OIIII- - J. L. Wether, H. Martin, A. 11. Tutill, Aitken. Truscott, Lee and Brake. Misses Shanks, Hawes, Barklie and Tutill. Messrs Meyers, Dixey, Perry. Prangnell, Harrison, Neilson, Barton. Wilkinson F. Pender, W. Carter and Roberts.
