Moorland Wins Cup. The Karamea (non-tota lisa tor) races were held at Karamea on New Year’s Day in excellent weather and before a large attendance. The aged Moorland, victor of many races at West Coast meetings, won the Karamea Clip in a great finish with Fair Go and Never Mind, whilst he also won the Morley Handicap. Results: Farmers’ Plate: six furlongs.—Reservation (N. Simpson) 1, Just Billy 2, Fair Go 3. Seven starters. Won by two lengths. Seddon ville Trot; one mile.—Great Wilkes (Ray) 1, Misty 2, Claire 3.
