The Waimate Caledonian Society’s Meeting. (Special to the " Star.’) W AIM AT K, Decern be r 27. For the fifty-eighth annual sports meeting of the Waimate Caledonian Society, the weather was beautifully fine and there was a large attendance of the public, the gatetakings showing an increase on last year. The racing was keen throughout the day, particularly in the running events, which were all well contested. The cycling events proved disappointing from the point of view of competition owing to the failure of many entrants to put in an' appearance. However, the racing did not lack interest, the times recorded comparing favourably with those of former years. The results were as follows: Running. 100yds Handicap—First heat (4): R. S.
