GIFTS FOR CHILDREN.

With a view to ensuring that the little children of the unemployed workers should not be without some gift at Christmas, the Mayoress of Geraldine, Mrs B. R. Macdonald, organised an effort to secure gifts for the young people, with the result that a large and well-laden Christmas tree made its appearance in the Parish Hall, where about one hundred children each received a gift. The Geraldine Brass Band was present and played selections. Mrs Macdonald was assisted by Mrs J. Kennedy, Mrs B. Hayes. Misses Logan and T. Williams. -
