BEACH PATROLS CHOSEN.

Professionals Appointed in Each Case. Patrols have now been chosen to I watch the bathing areas at North j Beach, New Brighton and Sumner. In j each case professionals have been ap- ! pointed. Last week Mr F. Priest was { given the position at New Brighton, and after further trials Mr A. Simpson secured the Sumner appointment. After Mr A. Dalton had been unable to continue as honorary patrolman, trials were held at North Beach on Sunday. There were six applicants, and Mr F. Foster was chosen. The patrols will be kept on the beaches for ' the duration of the school holidays. Mr Priest was patrolman at New » Brighton last year. Mr Simpson and ; Mr Foster have been swimming for the ; Somerfield and East Christchurch Clubs < respectively, but they will now lose their amateur status. j
