“WILD HORSE MESA.”
Attractive Holiday Bill at Grand. An attractive holiday programme is offered at the Grand Theatre this week. Zane Grey’s “ Wild Horse Mesa,” featuring Randolph Scott and Sally Blane, heads a long list of entertaining features. . “ Skippy,” starring that great child actor. Jackie Cooper, is being shown at the matinees only. “ Wild Horse Mesa,” which is based on one of Zane Grey’s most popular novels, deals with America’s wild horse country. Randolph Scott protects the Indians and their animals from unscrupulous thieves who catch the horses by means of barbed wire entanglements. It is whilst he is befriending the Red Men that Scott comes up against Fred Kohler, who sets out to d.o him harm. There is not a dull moment in this picture for the story is a good one with all the qualities necessary for a successful Western drama. The romantic interest is supplied by Sally Blane, who was seen to advantage in “ Heritage of the Desert.” Jackie Cooper plays the title role in ••Skippy.” and Mitzi Green and Robert Coogan are also prominently cast. The supporting items are first-class.
