TAXATION OF LIQUOR.
United Press Assn. —By Electric WASHINGTON, December 22. The House Ways and Means Committee to-day virtually completed the drafting of the liquor tax Bill, carrying a levy of two dollars a gallon on spirits, five dollars a barrel on beer and low taxes on wines. It is estimated that the taxes will yield the Treasury 500,000,000 dollars a year.
