of the crew of a yacht taking part in the I.yttelton-Akaroa race on Sunday. When just off Pigeon Bay the dinghy, which was being towed behind the yacht, swamped and broke away, To avoid losing it, two of the crew had to dive overboard and swim after the derelict. The dinghy safely stowed on board, but the delay put the yacht concerned out of the race.
