PRIZES PRESENTED.

Sacred Heart Girls’ College. PUPILS’ WORK INSPECTED. His Lordship Bishop Brodie distributed prizes and certificates to tlie successful pupils of the Sacred Heart Girls’ College in the College Assembly Hall yesterday morning. His Lordship congratulated the girls on their excellent behaviour during the year and also on their beautiful rendering of the Gregorian Chant, which, he said, in the opinion of visiting experts, compared favourably with that heard anywhere in the world. After the distribution of prizes an inspection was made of the beautiful work done by the pupils during the year in plain and fancy needlework, dressmaking and handwork. Lectures in first aid had been given during the winter by Dr O’Brien to all the classes of the secondary division. All the pupils presented for the St John Ambulance Association examination had been successful in obtaining certificates. The girls had been delighted to devote their recreation time during the winter months to the making of garments for distribution at the Central Unemployment Depot. The prize list is as follows:
